Market Sprouts
Market Sprouts is a program focused on educating children (and their parents) about local produce, farming, gardening, sustainability, seasonality, nature, and more. Each week we offer a free educational activity or craft for our Sprouts to make and take home.

Sachets and Mother's Day
Join us as we connect to the book, The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. Create a fragrant lavender and rosemary sachet and discover the benefits of herbs! The sachet is the perfect size for a pocket, a drawer, a bag... It's a wonderful gift for Mother's Day. We will also be making cards for Mom with watercolors we make from recycling dried up markers.
Wiggler Worms and Book Worms
Find out how worms help us reduce waste and turn food scraps into nutrients for the soil — soil superheroes! Look inside a worm bin, touch a worm, create worm crafts, and read worm books!
Nature Detectives
Learn how you can be a nature detective! Create your own nature journal and start exploring outdoors. Draw, count, and write about what you see. Collect nature treasures in your journal!

Recycled Art
We are celebrating World Environment Day by learning how we can all reduce waste to make a cleaner, healthier world. Someone else's trash can be treasure for others... or art! We are making fun recycled art to take home or give to someone else as a gift.
Wind Chimes and Pop-Up Reading Village
We'll learn about wind, its significance and how it can affect us. You can create your own wind chimes to take home or give as a gift! We'll also have our pop-up outdoor reading village for you to lounge in with a good book!
Kids Market and Father's Day
We're celebrating Kids Market Day! Make memorable cards and small gifts for a special Dad in your life. We will be using paints we make from nature and unleashing our artistic and entrepreneur sides!

Fireworks, Friendships and 4th of July
We're learning about why we celebrate at this time of year, and the importance of friendship and working together! Working together, we will use/reuse materials from nature, and cardboard/paper to create festive decorations and artwork. Leaves, pinecones and dried flowers can be turned into stamps and paint brushes!
Nature's Magic Wands
Today we're having fun with our imagination and the magic of nature. Create a magical wand out of natural materials such as sticks, feathers, flowers, leaves and twine. What magic will your wand bring?
The Anywhere Farm
We're celebrating Farm Bureau Day! You can plant a seed in almost anything! Today we will be upcycling small items and turning them into pots for planting. Take your planted seeds home to nurture and grow!

The Travelin' Chickens and Pop-Up Reading Village
Come meet four of our chickens — interact with them, learn how they can help with sustainability, and read to them! The chickens each have a favorite book too! Chicken crafts will also be a must on this fun day!
Watermelon and Animal Party
It'll be a fun day with the Petting Zoo and Watermelon Eating Contest! Create fun watermelon art, investigate the watermelon life cycle, and learn more about the animals on the farm!
Potato Prints on National Potato Day
Celebrate National Potato Day at Market Sprouts! We'll be turning potatoes into stamps and making art with nature-based paint. Potato recipes will be available too.
Nature Weaving
Discover the history of weaving and its cultural importance around the world. Create your own weaving craft using yarn and items from nature.

Dog Days and Pop-Up Reading Village
Pop-up tents will be out for you to lounge in with a good book! You can also make a chewy dog toy by reusing old t-shirts or create a dog craft with nature-based materials! Come see all the diggity dogs!
Kindness Rocks
One message at just the right moment can change someone's entire day! We will be learning about the Kindness Rocks Project and painting rocks with words or pictures that promote happy feelings. Give your Kindness Rock to someone, place it in a park, or keep it for yourself!
Monarch Madness
Discover the magic of monarch butterflies and how they connect three countries. Learn how we can help them survive, and create a fun monarch butterfly craft. We will also have milkweed seed balls to make, take, and toss outside in the fall!

The Importance of a Leaf
Discover all the ways leaves are important for people, animals, and insects. Learn to identify some leaves, and have fun with a leaf scavenger hunt and leaf art. We will all be learning about the importance of leaving the leaves this fall!
Winter Greenhouses and Native Seeds
We're diggin' native plants! We will be reusing containers (to practice reducing waste) and making mini greenhouses to plant native seeds in. The mini greenhouses stay outside in fall and winter for cold stratification. Discover why it's important for our ecosystem to grow native plants!
Pumpkin Palooza!
Dress up in your Halloween costume and come for pumpkin fun! Pumpkin decorating, seed guessing contest, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin crafts and more! Discover how pumpkins can become amazing additions to the compost pile when Halloween is over!
