What to Expect

Weather

The Market is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday throughout the appointed season, RAIN OR SHINE!!! Market programming, like Market Sprouts also runs rain or shine and will not be cancelled unless there is significant weather. If you’re concerned about the status of an event, please check the Market’s Facebook page.

Be an Early Bird

For the best selection, visit the market early in the day. Although vendors do not begin selling until the market bell rings at 8:00 am, they quickly sell out of the most popular produce, especially eggs. Vendors may not sell before the morning bell rings. However, they can continue to sell after the noon bell rings.

Bags and Coolers

You may purchase recycled-poly bags from the market for $3.00 or a sturdy reusable tote for $25. You may want to spend more time shopping or dining in downtown Edwardsville, in which case a cooler will also come in handy.

Transportation & Parking

There is ample parking in the municipal lot across the street from the market.  THE MADISON COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM offers a number of scenic routes for biking to the market and there are bike racks all along Edwardsville’s Main Street.

Visit Regularly, Visit Often

Some weeks, especially early in the season, there may be less available depending on growing conditions. As the season progresses, the choices become downright overwhelming! Learn what is in season on our SEASONAL CALENDAR. Regardless of the time of year, it is a good idea to try new produce. If you are trying something new, ask the vendors how they like to prepare the item.

Real People Grow the Food and Make the Products

When you purchase items from vendors at The Goshen Market, you can count on everything you’re purchasing being locally grown, made, and produced. If you have questions about your products, please ask the vendor. If you’re searching for specific products, see our VENDORS’ LIST.

Methods of Payment

Market customers can visit the Information Tent to purchase Land of Goshen Community Market Money in $10 increments with their credit cards or use Illinois Link cards to purchase $1 tokens to be used for non-prepared food items. Most vendors at the Market will accept these tokens as forms of PAYMENT.

Restrooms

There are public restroom facilities located within the Madison County Transit Station, across the street from the Market.

Pets

The Land of Goshen Community Market is a pet-friendly site. Furry friends of all sizes visit the market every Saturday. Just make sure to keep your dog on a leash.

Community

Most importantly, The Land of Goshen Community Market isn’t just about buying produce. It is a place where you can connect with old friends, enjoy BREAKFAST OR LUNCH DOWNTOWN, learn more about the COMMUNITY, see weekly DEMONSTRATIONS, and listen to live music.
